Janakalyan Blood Centre, Nashik stands among very few blood Centres in Maharashtra having awarded

Following three renowned recognitions

1) NABH ACCREDITED Blood Centre

The Janakalyan Blood Centre has been awarded NABH Accreditation by the Quality Council of India for
maintaining the highest quality standards in Blood Centre operations.

2) The Blood Centre has been recognised by National Aids Control Organisation (NACO)


3) The Blood Centre enjoys the status of Regional Blood Transfusion Centre by the State Blood
Transfusion Council (SBTC).

Social Commitment

1. Thalassemia and other needy patients are provided free/concessional blood for which the Blood
Centre incurs a cost of more than Rs. 15 lacs annually.

2. It also provides concessional blood to the needy patients at the Dialysis Centres, Shri
Guruji Rugnalaya, Medical College Hospital, T. B. Sanatorium, Arogyashala Rugnalaya, and Cottage
Hospital in Javhar & other charitable hospitals in Nashik & Thane District.

3. Thalassemia-affected children (23) are being given blood transfusions every month free of cost.

Future Plan

1) The Blood Centre now aims at full automation of blood grouping & other processes in the near
future.
2) To conduct Thalassemia detection camps, and create awareness among youths in the pre-marriage stage
to prevent thalassemia.
3) To set up more satellite blood Storage Centres at Taluka places to cater to blood requirements in
urgent needs.

  • Maximum component separation and their distribution.  Keep the scale of operations reasonably high to bring down the processing cost of blood components.
